Role: Materials Technician (Placement Year, Bristol Site, ~13 months)

Sole TBC Coatings Assessor: Developed complete Thermal Barrier Coating assessment workflow from requirements after internal expertise loss. Settings remain in active use.
National Company Excellence Award: Awarded at Intertek national town hall for critical Alicona surface measurement delivery under severe staffing gaps and deadlines.
Experimental Design & Optimization: Designed and executed 2⁴ Factorial Design of Experiments (DOE) with DSC/TGA to optimize powder sample hot mounting.
Knowledge Transfer: Trained colleagues—including senior staff with 15+ years experience—on novel assessment logic and optical workflows.
Microstructural Precision: Manual planimetric grain sizing in powder-metallurgy Titanium and alpha-lath width measurements in AM titanium alloys where automated software failed.
